Nursing is the cornerstone of patient care - today and tomorrow. That's why your gifts to us are so important. Your gift supporting the Methodist College of Nursing, whether it is $50 or $50,000, is a worthwhile investment in the educational needs of future generations of nurses and the betterment of healthcare in our communities. Your gift can take many forms, so choose the type of giving that best meets your needs, such as:

  • One-time cash gift or a three-year pledge
  • Securities or In-Kind Donations
  • Planned Gifts, ranging from including Methodist College of Nursing in your will to a variety of Trust and Chariable Gift Annuities

Your gift can support a wide range of needs:

Methodist College of Nursing Endowment Fund

When a donation is made to the endowment fund, the donation is deposited into the principal of the endowment. The interest is then applied towards the college’s operating expense. Once in the operating budget, the funds are used for equipment and supplies so that students can continually learn in our hands-on environment at our Learning Resource Center.

Methodist College of Nursing Program Development Fund

Gifts to this fund are directed specifically towards the enhancement of curriculum and other student needs.  From the 2009-10 to the 2010-11 school years, the number of students living on campus increased from 40 to 100. The Program Development Fund helps us to provide additional living and study space for our students.

Methodist College of Nursing General Fund

Donations to the General Fund support the day to day operations of the college. Your continued support keeps the Methodist College of Nursing strong and growing.

Methodist College of Nursing Scholarship Fund

Providing financial assistance to a deserving student is making an investment in tomorrow’s workforce. Contributions to the scholarship fund allow us to help fulfill the dreams of students working to achieve their goals of becoming a medical professional in the field of nursing.

Gift helps brighten
kids' hospital stays

Methodist Child Life Specialist Carol Weiss needed some new toys and supplies to help her with her job of comforting and teaching young patients. That's where Barbara Spurgeon stepped in. Barb, a past Foundation Board member, member of the Foundation’s President’s Society, and also a Methodist volunteer for many years, made a generous gift to the Foundation to enhance the pediatric experience at Methodist.

"I like to see my gift at work," Barb said, "so I am happy to support Carol's efforts. It is clear that she is making a big difference for children and their parents at Methodist."
