Ways to Help

Did you know that Methodist is not-for-profit?

We believe that not-for-profit healthcare is in the best interest of the community. This keeps our focus on you, not on a group of shareholders looking to make a profit on our services. It makes our mission—to provide you with outstanding healthcare—a real commitment.

As a not-for-profit healthcare provider, Methodist Medical Center relies on the generosity of the community to help us continue to provide the outstanding quality of care you have come to know and expect.  The generosity of the community includes financial support through our foundation, as well as volunteer efforts at our hospital.

Methodist Medical Center Foundation

The Methodist Medical Center Foundation raises funds to purchase new equipment, provide programs and education, and fund research that makes a difference for you.  Click here to donate online.  Find out how you can impact the health and well being of our community!

Volunteering

As a Methodist volunteer, you brighten the lives of our patients and visitors. Our volunteers - from as young as 14 to the young-at-heart - escort patients, deliver mail, Methodist Volunteerrock babies in the Wonder Center, and assist in offices. Volunteering may help boost energy levels and self-esteem while reducing stress-related health problems.  Why not use your time and talents to serve others in the community?

Why do we need your help?

As we all know, healthcare costs are rising.  What you may not know is that government and insurers are reducing reimbursements to hospitals and doctors. This leaves many with not enough funding to provide new services, purchase new technology, and introduce new programs.

  • Methodist Medical Center is a not-for-profit hospital. We serve everyone seeking emergency care, regardless of ability to pay.
  • We receive no tax support.
  • Our revenues are affected by reduced insurance payments, and rising labor costs.
  • Philanthropy is the key to Methodist Medical Center's success…without it we cannot meet the healthcare needs of our community.

Gifts In Action

Motorcycle ride raises $12,000 for mammograms

Nancy Borum brought in $12,000 for the Methodist mammography van with her Bikers for Ta-Tas motorcycle ride on July 17.

As database and donor relations coordinator for the Foundation, she could see there were not enough resources for uninsured or under-insured women to get mammograms. The donation will allow the mammography van to provide mammograms to those who can’t afford the screening or who live too far away from Methodist offices.

Borum knows the importance of early detection. Her mother is a breast cancer survivor, and her sister is undergoing treatment for the disease.

The event drew almost 1,000 riders. More than 1,000 people bought T-shirts, including many out-of-state supporters who learned about the event online. One rider came from Pennsylvania to Bartonville, where the 145-mile ride began.
