Debbie Simon
President and CEO

Debbie Simon

Debbie Simon began her career at Methodist in 1976 as a nurse and has served in administrative leadership roles with the hospital since 1978. Her first leadership position was as Head Nurse in the Cardiac Surgical Unit. She later got her MBA from Bradley University and held the positions of Senior Director of Nursing, Assistant Vice President of Patient Care Services and Chief Operating Officer/Chief Nursing Officer. She is certified by AANC as Advanced Nursing Administrator. Debbie is a Wharton Nurse Executive Fellow and a Henry Crown Leadership Fellow.

Debbie is actively involved in the community, serving on several civic boards, including the Pekin Area Chamber of Commerce; Advanced Medical Transport; National Council of Advisors for the Bradley University Foster College of Business. She is also a member of several healthcare executive and nursing organizations.

Cal MacKay
Senior Vice President and Chief Network Officer, Methodist First Choice

Calvin MacKay

With 30 years of experience in the healthcare field, Calvin MacKay joined Methodist in 2002. After 16 years as a CPA with Ernst & Young, including time spent running a healthcare audit practice, Cal moved to the provider side of the industry. Prior to joining Methodist, he worked 10 years as CFO of Baptist Hospital of Tennessee and several years as CFO of the WellStar Health System in Georgia. Cal’s diverse financial background includes accounting, auditing, internal controls, physician relations, business development, third party reimbursement, bond issues, revenue enhancement, financial projections, and budgeting.

Erick Laine
Senior Vice President, President of Methodist Medical Group

Erick Laine

Dr. Laine joined the Methodist executive team in May of 2010 as Senior Vice President and President of Methodist Medical Group. He brings a clinical practice background in internal medicine and more than 15 years of executive healthcare leadership. He was a medical officer in the USAF before going into clinical practice in Bellingham, Washington. He later became Medical Director, then CEO of Madrona Medical Group, and then Chief Executive of Peace Health Medical Group and regional vice president of Peace Health. He has been on numerous healthcare boards, was president of the Washington Medical Group Alliance, has been an active public speaker on healthcare economics and has been active in community leadership. He is responsible for growing and developing Methodist Medical Group.

Rick Anderson, MD
Chief Medical Officer, Hospital and Methodist First Choice

Rick Anderson, MD

Dr. Anderson earned a B.A. in Chemistry/Biology from Greenville College in Greenville, Illinois; an M.D. degree from Rush Medical College, Chicago; and completed a Residency in Family Medicine at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria. Dr. Anderson served in the United States Army from 1976 to 1979. He is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria. Dr. Anderson serves on the Joint Committee on Graduate Medical Education at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria and the University Dean's Senior Leadership Council.

Rebekah Bourland
Vice President of Methodist Foundation

Rebekah Bourland

Rebekah Bourland joined Methodist Medical Center Foundation as Vice President in November 2006. She previously spent 12 years as a Regional Manager for John Deere Health (now United Healthcare). She is a native Peorian, graduate of Northwestern University, and has earned the designation of Fellow, Academy of Healthcare Management (FAHM). Rebekah has been a member of the Peoria Civic Center Authority for twelve years and has served three years as Chairman. She also serves on the Board of the Peoria Symphony and the Foster College of Business (Bradley University) National Council of Advisors. She has been honored with the Tom Connor Award for Community Service, the YWCA Legend Award, the Corn Stock Theatre Founders' Award, the WTVP Bourland Award for Service, the Junior Achievement of Central Illinois Louis B. Neumiller Award, and the WCBU Volunteer of the Year Award.

Tammy Duvendack
Vice President of Inpatient Nursing/Home Services

Tammy Duvendack

Tammy Duvendack became Vice President of Patient Care Services in 2008. She has been with Methodist Medical Center for more than 20 years, beginning as a staff nurse. She then served in various nursing and leadership positions, including Director of Outcomes Management, Director of Acute Care Services and Director of Clinical Practice and Professional Development. She is a part-time faculty member at Bradley University's nursing department. She is proud to teach future nurses and to support and influence nurses at Methodist.

Robert Quin
Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer

Rob Quin

Robert Quin became Vice President of Finance at Methodist in January 2005. He has more than 17 years of experience in finance and planning. He previously served as a finance director at another acute care hospital. He was also a senior auditor with KPMG. Rob is a member of Healthcare Financial Management Association and American College of Healthcare Executives. He received a Master's Degree in Business Administration from Bradley University and a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Illinois State University. He received his Certified Public Accountant Certification in 1990.

Tony Schierbeck
Vice President Commercial Accounts

Tony Schierbeck

Tony Schierbeck began his career with Methodist Medical Center in 1990. He graduated from Southern Illinois University in 1982 with a degree from the School of Communication and Fine Arts. Tony's first position at Methodist was Director of Occupational Medical Services and Wellness Center and he has served in administrative leadership roles with the hospital ever since. He is a member of the Peoria Area Labor Management Advisory Council and the American College of Healthcare Executives. Tony sits on the board for the Bradley University Chiefs Club and the Boys and Girls Club of Peoria.

Jeanine Spain
Vice President of Specialty Nursing and Operations

Jeanine Spain

Jeanine Spain has more than 30 years of nursing and operational experience and has been in a leadership role since 1986. Her introduction into the leadership role began in Critical Care and expanded to include intermediate nursing units and various ancillary units. She has an instrumental role in Cardiology Service redesign in the early 90's and then assumed oversight of the Cardiology Service Line in 1999. She has assumed interim oversight of other service lines over the years, such as Acute Care and Emergency. Her current role provides executive leadership, strategic planning, operations and Nursing Practice with Surgery, Women's/Children, Behavioral Health, Critical Care and Cardiology Service Line as well as oversight of Laboratory, Endoscopy and Pain niche services.

Steve Riney
Vice President, Chief Information Officer

Steve Riney

Steven Riney has 33 years of leadership experience in the healthcare industry, including 28 as Chief Information Officer (CIO) in large, complex healthcare organizations and 5 as a Senior Consultant with IBM/Healthlink. As a CIO, Steve has automated all aspects of integrated delivery networks. He knows how to balance the big picture of the healthcare industry, while maintaining a detailed understanding of process flows throughout hospitals, physician practices and the community. Steve also serves as Vice Chair of the Central Illinois Health Information Exchange (CIHIE) board of directors.

Joy Ledbetter
Executive Director and Chief Human Resource Officer

Joy Ledbetter

Joy Ledbetter has over 15 years of experience in Human Resources and Business Management. A collaborative and effective leader, Joy embraces teamwork at all levels within the organization. Joy earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Human Resource Management from Eastern Illinois University and went on to complete her M.B.A. with the University of Illinois, Springfield. Joy is a member of the CUPA-HR and the Health Care HR Advisory Board. She is active in her community and is passionate about Methodist Medical Center.
