Methodist Wins Gold National Website Award
Peoria, Illinois (March 26, 2009)--The website for Methodist Medical Center has received a Gold Award from Web Health Awards. The Methodist award was one of only two Gold awards issued by Web Health Awards for the fall/winter competition. The Web Health Awards is organized by the Health Information Resource Center, a national clearinghouse for consumer health information programs and materials. The goal of the competition is to provide a "seal of quality" for electronic health information.
Gold, Silver, Bronze and Merit awards are presented during the twice-yearly competition.
The Web based health awards is an extension of the Health Information Resource Center’s 16-year-old National Health Information Awards (NHIA), the largest program of its kind in the United States.
Methodist Marketing and Public Relations Director Rosemary Stuttle said,
"MyMethodist.net is not about Methodist – it's about you and your health. Our goal is to give you the information and tools you need to take you well into the future. We're very proud that our website has been recognized yet again for helping us achieve that goal, making healthcare more accessible to everyone in our community."
A panel of international health information and Internet experts judged the entries based on accuracy, success in reaching the targeted audience and overall quality.
