Methodist Again Honored for Website
Peoria, Illinois (November 30, 2010)--Methodist Medical Center recently earned high marks for its website.
MyMethodist.net received the Platinum Award for Best Quality and Safety Communication, and the Silver Award for Best Overall Internet Site.
The eHealthcare Leadership Awards were selected from almost 1,300 entries. The awards program was developed 11 years ago, although healthcare websites have since evolved.
"The extensive debate on healthcare reform, combined with the need for increased efficiency in a challenging economy, has spurred digital media innovation," says Mark Gothberg, eHealthcare Leadership Awards chairman. "A substantial number of organizations have made major improvements in their websites to better serve current and future customers. Organizations are also embracing social networking, including blogs, Facebook and Twitter, to reach consumers in new ways and generate concrete business. Mobile communications is also being pursued by a number of market leaders."
Methodist's website was also a Silver Winner in the Aster Awards – a program that recognizes healthcare marketers.
Additionally, the mobile version of MyMethodist.net was a silver award recipient in the W3 Awards presented by the International Academy of Visual Arts.
