Most insurance companies cover "screening" mammograms. Because coverage varies, you may want to check with your insurance company. Medicare pays for one screening mammogram every 12 months. If you do not have insurance or are underinsured, tell us when you call. You may be able to qualify for a free mammogram.
At Methodist we use the latest tecnology to increase early detection of breast cancer during screening mammograms. Our computer-aided detection system takes a "second look" at mammograms done at Methodist. Research shows that early detection can be improved by nearly 20% when computer aided detection is used with mammography.
