Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting

This is a surgical procedure done for severe coronary artery disease. The surgeon bypasses the diseased coronary artery with a graft taken from the patient (usually a vein from the leg or arm, or an artery from the chest). This bypass restores normal blood flow to the heart muscle.
