Endoluminal Graft Insertion for Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Repair

An abdominal aortic aneurysm is a bulge in the aorta (the main blood vessel coming from the heart) in the abdomen. To repair the aneurysm, the doctor uses a catheter (thin, flexible tube) to guide a graft through a blood vessel and place it inside the aneurysm. This procedure is less invasive than surgery and patients typically remain in the hospital overnight and go home the next day.
