T-Wave Alternans

This test helps the doctor determine if a patient is at risk for developing life-threatening arrhythmias (heartbeat irregularities) that can lead to sudden cardiac death. The patient walks on a treadmill to increase heart rate. The test identifies subtle electrical disturbances in the electrocardiogram that can indicate the patient may be at risk of developing rhythm abnormalities of the heart.
