What advice do our nurses offer?

When you call, an experienced nurse provides information and guides you to the medical care you need. You have healthcare options. The Methodist First Call nurse helps you choose the treatment option that is right for you.

When should you call?

You may call with any medical question, but people usually call for reasons like these:

• You have a sick child and don’t know what to do
• You are not sure whether you need to see a doctor
• You need guidance on how to treat the flu, cuts, a backache, etc.

What services are not offered by Methodist First Call?

You will never get a diagnosis over the phone. The nurse listens to your situation, and if you need a doctor, the nurse can recommend one.

What should you do in an emergency?

If you have an emergency, such as chest pain or poisoning, call 911.
