The Wonder Center is prepared for special needs. If you have a multiple, complicated or C-section birth, we provide personalized, professional care in our high-tech delivery rooms.

Special Care for Baby

Our certified Level 2 Special Care Nursery cares for at-risk babies greater than 32 weeks gestation. On the rare occasion that a baby requires a ventilator, he or she is transferred to the nearby Saint Francis Neonatology Unit. A neonatologist (a doctor specializing in the care of newborns) is available 24 hours a day if your baby should develop any problems. The neonatologist is also present at cesarean births and any other delivery that involves special concern for the health of the baby.

Special Care for You

If there are special concerns with your pregnancy, your doctor may consult with the Methodist perinatologist. A perinatologist is a doctor who specializes in the management of at-risk pregnancies.
