Steps to Healing

Our team approach at the Comprehensive Spine Center gives you more options for care.

The steps to pain relief and greater function include:

Your Physician Visit:

During your first visit, your doctor will talk with and listen to you, examine you, and review your medical history. Based on your examination, your doctor may order a test, such as an X-ray, MRI, or CT scan, to help diagnose what’s causing your pain. You might also be asked to meet with a spine-specialized physical therapist or pain psychologist.

The First Choice: Non-Surgical Options

Whenever possible, the first treatment option will be non-surgical. Physical therapy, biofeedback, and pain psychology are just a few of the treatment options that have offered real and lasting results to our patients.

Sometimes Surgery Is Necessary

Some spine conditions require surgery. Examples can include herniated discs, fractures, tumors, or deformities. Your care team uses the latest and least invasive treatments available to speed you to healing sooner.

Becoming Active Again

Your physical therapist will help you rebuild strength, mobility, and flexibility. You will also learn to avoid movements that might lead to reinjury. You’ll also learn exercises that can support daily improvement and prevent or control pain.

Education: Learn to Grow Stronger

We will teach you how to overcome back and neck problems to enjoy a healthier life. The more you learn, the better able you will be to prevent pain, maintain the strength you need, and avoid reinjury.
